Beyond the beach
These are a few of my favorite things
Your go-to guide for fun, fabulous, and feel-good experiences around the Delaware beaches.
There’s more to coastal life than sand and surf — the Delaware beaches are home to vibrant events, artistic corners, and memory-making experiences that bring people together. These are some of my favorite things to do when I want to soak up the local flavor and have a little fun.
Cape Water Taxi & Tours | Lewes, DE
Whether you’re hopping between towns or cruising into golden hour, Cape Water Taxi is a must. They offer scenic eco-tours, sunset rides, and private charters that show off the waterways in the best way.
Local Tip: Book the sunset BYOB cruise with friends — it’s a guaranteed vibe.
DAC’s West Side Creative Market | Rehoboth Beach, DE
A seasonal outdoor market hosted by the Developing Artist Collaboration, this event is bursting with art, live music, handmade goods, and creative energy. It’s a community favorite and a great way to support local makers.
Local Tip: Go at golden hour, grab a drink from the beer garden, and stay for the music.
Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor | Milton, DE
One of the dreamiest spots in the region, Lavender Fields is a little slice of Provence right here in Delaware. Wander the gardens, shop handmade lavender goods, and soak up the serene vibes.
Local Tip: Visit in mid-June for peak bloom — and bring your camera.
Drag Shows Around Town
The local drag scene is thriving — from themed brunches to high-energy night shows. Keep an eye out for events at places like The Purple Parrot, Aqua, The Pines, and Milton Theatre.
Local Tip: Book ahead — these shows do sell out, and every seat is a good one.
